Donald Runnicles - new Chief Conductor

Â鶹Éç Scottish Symphony Orchestra | 14:27 UK time, Tuesday, 2 October 2007

Donald Runnicles is going to be the new Chief Conductor of the Â鶹Éç SSO. Announcements like this are a double-edged sword for someone in my job - on the one hand you need to keep it a closely-guarded secret and, on the other, after a certain date, you need to tell as many people as you can. Consequently, my phone bill will be astronomical and editors of classical music journals all want to be my best mate. Hey - I can't blame them - it's great news!

Donald Runnicles will be appearing with the Â鶹Éç SSO on 24 April 2008 in The City Halls, Glasgow.

Read what the folks on the Â鶹Éç Radio 3 message board have to say. Then send us your comments on our new appointment.

Marketing Manager, Â鶹Éç SSO
