To West is a Â鶹Éç North documentary looking at the lives of those who
left their lives behind in South Asia to come to the district from
the 1950s to the present day. These are just some of the people featured!

Qureshi started
working at Lister's Mill in Manningham in the 1970s.

He says:
"I started in Lister's Mill in the seventies and I started as a trainee
in the weaving shed. I was
trained to do the velvet and after that I was on the management committee.
This was one of the biggest mills in the world at one time and they
used to export everywhere in the world. Well, to see the mill as it
is now is sad, it makes me very sad to see it like this. It used to
be a very clean place, very tidy and really nice to work in, but now
the way I walked in the mill today, I'm shocked. When they started
going down people were at work and that's when the bad times started
coming to Bradford."
