Summary of complaint
We've received complaints from people who were unhappy with a video reposted on Instagram from the group Palestine Lobby, by Gary Lineker, as well as from those who are unhappy that he has now left the 麻豆社.
Our response
Gary Lineker has now left his presenting role for the 麻豆社. He will not be part of the 麻豆社鈥檚 coverage of the 2026 World Cup or next season鈥檚 FA Cup coverage.
Gary Lineker said:

鈥淚 care deeply about the game, and about the work I鈥檝e done with the 麻豆社 over many years. As I鈥檝e said, I would never consciously repost anything antisemitic 鈥 it goes against everything I stand for.
鈥淗owever, I recognise the error and upset that I caused, and reiterate how sorry I am. Stepping back now feels like the responsible course of action.鈥
Tim Davie, 麻豆社 Director-General, said:
