Summary of complaint
We received complaints about the statement the 麻豆社 made about Thought for the Day, broadcast on 13th August, and subsequent edits to this edition.
Our response
There are many different views on the subject of immigration and asylum hotels and the 麻豆社 aims to provide opportunity for them all to be heard with due impartiality. While the reflection on fear in society from a faith perspective was broadly in line with expectations of Thought for the Day, some of the language used went beyond that when taking account of the fact that the programme offers an unopposed platform, with no opportunity for the expression of other opinions.
