Complaint
The programme included a brief report on Tommy Robinson鈥檚 arrest at Luton Airport in which he was referred to as a 鈥渇ar-right activist鈥. A listener complained that this term gave a misleading of someone he thought should be characterised as a far right extremist. The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 麻豆社鈥檚 editorial standards of accuracy.
Outcome
Although 鈥渇ar right activist鈥 might not be an exhaustive description of Mr Robinson鈥檚 political position, the ECU did not consider it inaccurate, and saw no need for amplification in the context of a brief factual account of a topical event,
