Can I get a copy of a programme I featured in?

If you or your company, organisation or property has been featured in a �鶹�� programme, you may be able to purchase a copy. Please read the information below carefully and if you would like to request a copy, click on the link at the end of this page.

The copy supplied is for personal use only. Any unauthorised use, transmission, distribution or reproduction of the material supplied through the Contributor Access process is not permitted under any circumstances.

Who can make a request?

Anyone who has made a substantial contribution to a programme, e.g. credited as a performer, writer, guest or production team member. This does not include studio audience members or those seen only in a crowd scene or group. Relatives may make a request on the subject's behalf.

What programmes are not available?

Programmes not broadcast on the �鶹�� or other non-�鶹�� programmes
Programmes not held in the �鶹�� Archives
No sports programmes pre-1966. Sports programmes may not be available dependent on age or original source format.
�鶹�� World Service radio and �鶹�� World News television programmes
Copies of programmes only available on film (due to the higher cost of providing copies of acceptable quality)

How much does it cost?

We are required to cover all the costs of providing copies. Costs include research, sourcing and transferring of material, administrative and postal charges.
Programmes copies are delivered as digital files. Television programmes as MP4 files; radio as WAV files.

Prices:

TV and radio	Cost to customer (includes VAT)
Digital file (radio programmes supplied as WAV, TV programmes as MP4)	£60
Digital file (MP4 or WAV) of subsequent episodes in a series (when ordered at the same time)	£30

If you were offered a free copy by the production team, please contact them directly as �鶹�� Archives cannot provide a copy free of charge.

Copies supplied to contributors may be made from archive recordings of varying quality reflecting the age and original format. Therefore, the standard of copies made from older formats may be considerably lower than those from more recent programmes.

A song used in a TV programme?

You could try using a music identification app or an internet search engine to discover what music was played during a programme. Information about the music used in a TV programme might also be made available on the programme's website or on individual episode pages. Use the �鶹�� Programmes website to find the programme website you're looking for.

The background or atmospheric music used in a programme?

Sometimes music is taken from our internal production library which means it's not available commercially in the same way other music might be. It also means we may not have information such as track names or artists.

How to buy music featured in a programme?

Please check with local or online entertainment retailers to see if the soundtrack you'd like to purchase has been or will be commercially released. Unfortunately, the �鶹�� can't respond to individual queries about commercial products

The props and costumes used in our programmes can come from a variety of different sources, and we don’t usually have information to give out on them.

You might want to try searching for the official social media accounts for the programme, for example on X (formerly known as Twitter) or Facebook. They may post information about the props or costumes used on their programme there.

Can I get a transcript for a TV or radio programme?

You can access transcripts for In Touch on �鶹�� Radio 4 by visiting the specific episode page. Transcripts are also available for most Reith Lectures on each individual episode page. You can also access scripts for some �鶹�� programmes on the �鶹�� Writersroom website.

Aside from these examples, transcripts are rarely made available for �鶹�� radio or TV programmes. On the occasion that a transcript is made available, you can find it on the programme’s website. Check our A-Z programme directory to find the programme's website.

We'd recommend checking in with online or local retailers to see if the programme you are looking for has been released commercially.

It's no longer possible to buy copies of programmes directly from the �鶹�� in the UK, but we continue to publish a range of DVDs through �鶹�� Studios.

Where can I find your schedules?

Our online schedules are the best place to find all current and up to date scheduling details.
You can use the online TV guide to check all TV schedules for all of our UK TV channels or to view individual channels click on the links below.

You can also use the schedules menu on the �鶹�� Sounds website to check the schedules for all of our national stations and all of our local radio stations.

Radio schedules:

Schedules are only confirmed about ten days in advance so we usually can't provide schedules beyond this point.

Why have �鶹�� TV schedules changed?

Due to breaking news or coverage of live sport there may be occasions where the schedules might be a bit more flexible than usual. We do consider any changes very carefully though, and try to make sure they have as little impact as possible.

Changes to News programmes

On some days our News bulletins may not be in their normal timeslot – keep an eye on our TV Guide for the latest changes. Don’t forget you can access live, up to date coverage on the �鶹�� News Channel 24 hours a day. You can also stream on �鶹�� iPlayer or watch on Freeview channel 231, on Sky channel 503, Freesat channel 200 and channel 601 on Virgin Media.

Other ways to stay informed

Our �鶹�� News website is up to date with National and Local news or download our News app. Our local �鶹�� Radio stations bring up to date news from your area and our national stations will bring their usual national coverage. You can also use the schedules menu on the �鶹�� Sounds website to check the schedules for national �鶹�� Radio stations and try here for schedules of our local radio stations.

When will I be able to watch The Traitors series 4 on �鶹�� One and �鶹�� iPlayer?

A brand-new series of The Traitors (series 4) launches on �鶹�� One and �鶹�� iPlayer from New Year’s Day, Thursday 1 January, at 8pm on �鶹�� One and �鶹�� iPlayer. Episode 2 follows on Friday 2 January also at 8pm.

Each episode will become available on �鶹�� iPlayer after they have aired on �鶹�� One.

The Traitors: Uncloaked - the programme’s official visualised companion podcast - will air on �鶹�� Two after the main series on Thursday 1 January at 9.05pm.

From Friday 2 January, The Traitors: Uncloaked moves to �鶹�� One at 9pm and will also be available on �鶹�� Sounds and �鶹�� iPlayer.
