£250,000 for Appeal

Â鶹Éç Radio Cornwall listeners have helped to raise £250,000 for the Precious Lives Appeal, which is building a hospice for children in Cornwall. Find out how we've reached this fantastic amount by listening to some of the stories below...

Â鶹Éç Radio Cornwall's support of the Precious Lives Appeal was launched back in January 2008, to mark the silver anniversary of the radio station.

Since then Â鶹Éç Radio Cornwall listeners have been busy raising thousands of pounds for the charity, which is building a children's hospice in Porthpean, near St Austell.

It is hoped the eight-bed hospice, which will be called 'Little Harbour' will open its doors in autumn 2011.

Precious Lives founder Eddie Farwell said: "The location for the new hospice has given us our inspiration and we have taken the name from one of the translations of Porthpean.

"We have chosen to call our special third hospice Little Harbour, which is wonderfully apt for such a homely and caring place."
