BlastYou are in: Cumbria > Blast > Having a Blast in Cumbria ![]() Blast graffiti Having a Blast in CumbriaBy Tasha Hannon This year's 麻豆社 Blast reporter Tasha Hannon tells us a little bit about herself and her excitement at working with the Cumbria team ... 听I鈥檓 currently studying Journalism at Cumbria University and keeping my fingers crossed that one day I might just make it to be a real journalist in the real world! I鈥檝e just finished my second year of my degree and with only one year left to go I can鈥檛 believe the time has gone so quickly. ![]() Tasha interviews Craig Charles My passions in life are music, writing, travel and the Eurovision Song Contest. At the moment I鈥檓 living in Carlisle but my real home is a tiny village called Warcop about 40 miles south of here, not the most buzzing of places but we do throw a good village fete. I first became interested in journalism when the 麻豆社 Bus landed in Kirkby Stephen where I went to secondary school. I was fascinated with live broadcast and decided it was something I wanted to be a part of. In April I came across an advert for the 麻豆社 Blast reporter scheme and thought it looked liked an excellent opportunity to gain some real newsroom, online and broadcast experience. ![]() Tasha talks to Irish group Ash I applied, and was lucky enough to be offered a place for the summer to cover local music festivals along with other arts performances and exhibitions. I was sent down to 麻豆社 Bristol for two days training where I had the chance to meet other Blast reporters from around the UK and spent most of my time in total awe of everything. It was great to meet other people and share ideas about what we wanted to achieve from our time on placement. So here I am, in the 麻豆社 Cumbria office, very excited and very much looking forward to a fun filled eight weeks with the team! Articles from Tashakeeep up to date with Tasha's latest work for 麻豆社 Blast here ... last updated: 01/09/2009 at 14:42 Blast Message Boards - chill out and share your ideas.
