Dear Darwin

Five eminent contemporary thinkers write a letter to Charles Darwin to provide us with an intimate understanding of how some modern-day scientists view Darwin's continuing legacy.

The letters illustrate the importance of Darwinian thinking to their careers and lives' works. They question Darwin's ideas and answer some of his theoretical shortcomings through their own thoughts and experiences. They offer something, in this bicentennial year, that Darwin himself may have longed to know - what happened next?

First broadcast 5-9 January 2009 on Radio 4.
