Woolacombe
Village Beach in North Devon is one of the most popular beaches in
the whole county - and it's not hard to see why.
It's a beach of golden sand and dunes and is a favourite among water
sports fans. It's a safe beach and yet has great surfing conditions.
Speed boats and jet skis are prohibited in the water, but excellent
facilities are available for surfing, windsurfing, sailing and sea
canoeing.
There are also disabled visitors facilities including access to the
beach.
First aid is available and lifeguards are on hand. In addition, there
is a lost child centre.
And
for children, there is a miniature train.
Geographically, the beach is backed by the rugged, unspoilt Baggy
and Morte Points.
How to get to Woolacombe Beach: Ilfracombe is the nearest town
with a scheduled bus service throughout the day. Barnstaple is served
by a rail and coach service. A regular bus service connects Barnstaple,
Ilfracombe and Woolacombe.
