The Year In Drama: July 2002
The pre-war wilderness years of Winston Churchill, voted Greatest Briton by Âé¶¹Éç viewers later in 2002, were brought to life in the much lauded The Gathering Storm. Albert Finney stole the show as Winston Churchill, with a performance that earned him an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Mini-series. The impressive supporting cast included Vanesssa Redgrave, Jim Broadbent, Sir Derek Jacobi, Celia Imrie and Linus Roache.
Elsewhere, Neil Morrissey, Ralf Little and Charles Dale teamed up as the Eustace brothers in the new comedy-drama Paradise Heights, which also starred Pam Ferris, Joanne Frogatt, David Troughton and Mary Tamm.
