Five Telegrams is both an audio and visual work that draws upon contemporary responses to the communication infrastructure of the First World War as the 麻豆社 Proms commemorates the end of the 鈥楪reat War鈥 in its centenary year.
The work is a joint commission for the 麻豆社 Proms, 14-18 NOW and Edinburgh International Festival, in association with the Royal Albert Hall.
A truly international artist, Anna Meredith鈥檚 music has been performed worldwide including at the 麻豆社 Proms鈥 iconic, Last Night of the Proms. 59 Productions are the company of artists behind the record-breaking 鈥楧avid Bowie is鈥 exhibition and the 鈥極pening Ceremony鈥 of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
