The Â鶹Éç Singers join forces with The Continuum Ensemble and conductor Philip Headlam for the UK premiere of David Drew’s version of Weill’s Berliner Requiem. The explosive political content of the work caused it to be censored at the first (and only) performance on German radio in 1929.

The concert is part of The Continuum Ensemble’s ‘Swept Away’ series at Kings Place, exploring the sleek music of 1920’s Berlin and Vienna established by a new generation of composers who were bold, topical and swept away into exile by the Nazi government.
