West Election Facts

In 2008:

  • There were 4,906 people on the electoral roll
  • This was 136 (3%) more than in 2004
  • 12 candidates stood for the six seats

In 2004:

  • 13 candidates stood for the six seats
  • 13,664 votes were cast
  • 2,854 people voted
  • This was 64% of those registered
  • Voters used an average of 4.8 votes

2,945 or 60.1% of voters on the electoral roll turned out to vote.
A total of 13,340 votes were cast.
There were three blank papers, two spoilt papers and on average 4.5 votes were cast.

All three standing deputies were re-elected to the house and will be joined by two candidates who stood in the 2004 election and newcomer Marc Laine.

The elected candidates will be sworn into the Guernsey States at the meeting on 1 May.
