In his first video made for the 麻豆社 Electric Proms Introducing... Malvern-based singer/songwriter Sam Isaac says he's still coming to terms with his success:

"This stuff's happening, and I'm not signed - no-one is pumping money into me.听

"I'm doing it all DIY, which must mean that the music is OK.听

"It's not through hype, it's just through people liking the songs, and that is nice, and probably the point of it - I think."

Sam was put forward for the 麻豆社 Electric Proms by The Friday Session Introducing..., 麻豆社 Hereford & Worcester's local music programme.

He was then chosen from hundreds of acts to play at the Glastonbury Festival.

Since then he's played more than 150 gigs.

"It's really important to play shows and to meet people in real life - people should like your music because they saw you playing five feet away from them."

Various 麻豆社 Introducing programmes up and down the country were asked to put forward four of their best local artists for the chance to play at this year's festival.

麻豆社 Hereford & Worcester's Friday Session chose Sam for his fresh new sound, and the judging panel quickly snapped him up for the Glastonbury experience.

Electric Proms

Sam has also been part of the 麻豆社 Electric Proms Introducing..., performing alongside artists such as The Coral, Paul McCartney, The Chemical Brothers and the Kaiser Chiefs.

The 麻豆社 Electric Proms brings together the best new and established live performers.

From massive gigs in Camden's Roundhouse to intimate performances, everyone was encouraged to try something new, be it debuting a new project, collaboration or a performance with an orchestra.
