Staying glamorous in your 60's and 70's

For many men and women, it may feel as if they all but disappear after the age of 60. But to really enjoy this life stage, it's important to maintain a sense of identity and make the most of what you have.

Modern day celebrities such as Judi Dench, Sean Connery and Diane Keaton prove that it is possible to look very attractive in a way that's appropriate to their age.ÌýThey know what suits them and how to remain stunning, without losing any of their class.ÌýTake some inspiration from them for an instant shot of glamour.

Keep it simple

Clean-cut, tailored clothes will enhance one's figure and be more flattering than anything too fussy.ÌýAvoid baggy, shapeless styles that hide feminine curves.

Shun the beige brigade

Whilst beige can be a useful base to team with other colours, don't be tempted to disappear into it from head to toe. Red is a very appealing colour, as long as the right shade is chosen according to skin tone – for those with grey or white hair a cool blue-red will be the most flattering.ÌýExperiment using red on a small scale, just try a necklace or bracelet to start with, or a striped shirt for men.

Optical illusions

The art of successful dressing at any age is to draw the observer's eye towards the body's best features – therefore away from our least favourite areas.ÌýClever use of accessories can achieve this in an instant.

Be proud

Remember everybody is different and unique, so avoid the trap of comparing oneself to other, younger people.ÌýIndividuals in their 60's and 70's have a wealth of life experience that younger people don't yet have – the resulting confidence can be glamorous, attractive and very appealing!
