How I won a model of a Spitfire
During the early part of the war, Sheffield area held a competition to collect Saving Certificates to help to buy a 鈥淪heffield鈥 Spitfire for the RAF. The winner would receive a model of a Spitfire as a prize.
On the last day of the competition, my aunt Minnie came around to see me. She gave me 拢100 to go and buy some certificates and of course, I won the competition.
