Seven Jobs For Seven Days

Each week on Â鶹Éç Radio Humberside's Great Outdoors programme, our resident gardening expert, Doug Stewart, gives you seven jobs for seven days to help keep your garden in tip top condition.

Week commencing 22 March

1.ÌýÌýÌý Prune out 1/3 of the coloured stems on dogwoods, and other winter stems.

2.ÌýÌýÌý Make sure you have your seed order in.

3.ÌýÌýÌý Cut out dead wood on trees and shrubs.

4.ÌýÌýÌý Check fences and sheds for wind damage.

5.ÌýÌýÌý Take cuttings of over-wintered plants and houseplants for bedding out in the summer.

6.ÌýÌýÌý Wake the garden up with an organic feed, I use pelleted chicken manure.

7.ÌýÌýÌý Sit out and enjoy the sun!
