Yes, you can turn off most animations and motion effects on the 麻豆社 iPlayer website and on the TV app on most devices. This can be useful if you suffer from motion sickness.
We use animations on the 麻豆社 iPlayer to create a smoother, more enjoyable experience. However, we know that for some people, even just a small animation can trigger motion sickness. If that happens for you, or you just want to turn off animations to save battery power or CPU usage, you can turn off (most) animations on the 麻豆社 iPlayer website and TV app. Here's how:
On the TV app
- Head to your app Settings (the cog icon on the bottom of the left hand menu)
- Choose 'Accessibility'
- Toggle the 'Reduce motion' switch

The reduced motion setting is available on most devices, but not all. On devices that do not support animation, the setting is not shown because it has no effect.
On the website

- Open System Preferences from your Applications folder
- Click on 'Accessibility'
- Select the 'Display' option
- Tick the box next to 'Reduce motion'
Windows
- Open your Settings
- Go to 'Ease of Access'
- Choose the 'Display' option
- Under the 'Simplify and personalise Windows' section, set 'Show animation in Windows' to off
iOS
- Open your Settings
- Tap on 'General'
- Tap on 'Accessibility'
- Tap on 'Reduce Motion'
- Turn the 'Reduce Motion' toggle on by tapping it
