Again, difficult
to hear any other boats other than Hong Kong, but now have an email
to confirm all. As predicted, the winds have died on us and we currently
have our windseeker up.
We
had the worst 12-hour run of 15 - I was expecting it to not even
reach the double figures. Hong Kong us now 154nm away whilst Bristol
still remain in third place, although Glasgow (4th) and Liverpool
(5th) had very good runs and have made some ground on Bristol.
In
the scorching heat, we might not even get chance to sit down as
we constantly change the sails to make best use of whatever wind
we have - as I look at the dial now, we have 0.0 knots of true wind!!
However
the boat is still moving and currently speed over ground is just
one knot. There is still a long way to go, and we must continue
to fight for every gust of wind to ensure we maintain our lead.
Even
then, if there is no wind, then we can hardly move, as shown in
the last race when we were stuck in the windhole. Up until now we
have been very fortunate, and I really feel for the other boats
that have been enduring the lack of a decent breeze.
PS A big Happy
Birthday to my best friend Angela Condron who is 30 today!!
