The build-up

As part of the 麻豆社 Radio 1 Big Weekend Fringe Festival, 麻豆社 Kent Introducing put on a night at The Loft in Maidstone.

Some of the county's best bands were on the bill but only two of them were chosen by Radio 1's Huw Stephens to play on the Introducing Stage over the Big Weekend: It Hugs Back and Tom Williams and the Boat.

麻豆社 Kent Introducing presenter James Bursey chatted to members of both bands and he also tells us what The Big Weekend means to the unsigned scene in Kent:

Saturday 10th May: It Hugs Back

It was baking hot day and It Hugs Back were the first to perform on the Introducing stage at 1:30pm. Watch their performance and hear what the band had to say before and after their appearance on the 麻豆社 Introducing stage.

Sunday 11th May: Tom Williams and the Boat

Tom's brand of feel-good folky pop went down a storm in the Introducing tent on Sunday. We chatted to them before and after their set. Listen to a taster of their performance too.
