A good start is to think about all the things you need to do to make your presentation a roaring success.

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you get those creative juices flowing:

1. Decide on a topic
   do you want to inform, persuade or discuss?
   
2. Think about the audience
   who and how many; what they need to know and what they already know.
   
3. Decide on the content
   consider what is relevant; allow time for research and be selective.
   
4. Decide on the structure
   you should have an introduction, a body and a conclusion.
   
5. Spare some time to rehearse
   by doing this you will identify:
   strong points
   any tricky pronunciation
   possible weak points or gaps
   how long it will take and perhaps ways of relaxing
