The first thing Becky has to do is to make sure that she understand the question.
|
Write the question down and highlight the important words and phrases. This will make it easier to focus.
|
Becky asks herself what the brief is asking for. She also thinks about the question and writes down a few of her initial thoughts on what she might be expected to include.
Becky has assessed that she needs to:
- ... find out about what health clubs offer,
- ... find out what people expect from health clubs,
- ... find out what factors are involved in setting up a successful health club,
- ... think about where the "local" area extends to,
- ... find out about the costs of involved.
Becky then thinks about the amount of time she has to do her essay. She finds it useful to use a calendar to identify when she needs to complete the different stages of writing her essay.
She sets deadlines for:
- Completing her research,
- Completing her planning,
- Writing and checking her essay,
- Checking and preparing her references,
- Handing her essay in.
Now it's time to get on with the work ...
