Booking a Holiday
what are your pounds worth?
Ìý
Ìý

The last thing to do before leaving is to buy some currency.

How many will you get for your ££s?

Have a look at this converter, which converts £s to Euros.

You're taking £630 to Ayia Napa. So, you'll need to buy Cyprus pounds (C£s). Interest rates change daily but, for this exercise, let's assume that £1 = €1.6. To work out how many Cyprus pounds you'll get, you need to multiply the amount in ££s by the exchange rate.

630 x 1.6 = 1008
So £ 630 = C£ 1008

If you are doing the sum by hand, you can use the grid method as before, but take away the decimal point. But where do you put the decimal point once you've worked it out?

Count how many numbers were behind the decimal point(s) in your original numbers. There must be the same amount of numbers behind the decimal point in your answer.
