Keawr/Keawrin'
Meaning: Crouching or squatting down on one's heels (orig. 'Cower'). Pitmen
often favoured this method of taking the weight off their feet. In mining
villages they could often be seen 'keawrin' ' on the pavement outside
their homes, having a breath of fresh air at the end of a day's work.
