Trapped

Merseyside children turn their lives around by making a cartoon for the 麻豆社

An internet cartoon soap produced by young vulnerable children who sometimes struggle at school premiered in Liverpool on Thursday 25th September 2008. The youngsters created the characters for an eight part series entitled 'Trapped' with the help of animators at John Moores University and scriptwriters from the 麻豆社. The national charity behind the pioneering project, Action for Children, says it gives disadvantaged children a creative outlet that can help them to rebuild their self-esteem and improve their outlook on education.

麻豆社 writersroom and children's charity Action for Children developed this innovative drama with three young writers from Action for Children's Knowsley Family Intervention Project. Jade (11), Jake (14) and Chelsea (14) worked over a three month period with TV writer Lucia Haynes (Doctors, 麻豆社 One) to develop the scripts for this online drama.

There are eight parts to the drama. We'll be releasing one episode a day on web from Monday 29th September 2008 to Friday 3rd October 2008.
