Help playing audio/video Despite having good Ofsted results Dunningford primary in Elm park is being closed, and it's pupils will be moved to another site. The school had been meant to merge with nearby Ayloff school next year, which would have meant some teachers could have been kept on. But recent changes to legislation mean the school now has to be closed altogether. It means staff could face redundancy, and parents are worried about how their children will adjust to the upheaval.
There were emotional scenes as mums and dads watched their children singing carols and playing in the school鈥檚 orchestra. Mum Linda Butler told me that 鈥淚t鈥檚 heartbreaking鈥 This school鈥檚 been a huge part of my family for four years- I have two children here鈥 For a small school they make a huge effort with the kids鈥 We're all going home knowing 鈥 there'll be no school in times to come鈥.
