Just days after a Schools Inspector applauded behaviour there, the boy from Wykeham Primary School was confronted by teachers, who'd been tipped off by other pupils.

It鈥檚 been reported that the boy had kept two knives in the boys' toilets. One had been hidden in a toilet-roll holder, the other another in a cistern. He'd apparently took them out in an effort to impress his schoolmates.

But worried kids at the school Rainsford Way, Hornchurch, told teachers who then retrieved the knives.

Havering council said in a statement that:听 鈥淲ykeham Primary School governors have reaffirmed... [their] initial decision to exclude a pupil who brought two small knives into the school. The pupil鈥檚 parents have a right to appeal."

鈥淚ncidents involving knives in Havering schools are rare events although the Council and schools will take all practical precautions it can to protect staff and pupils from any potential risk.鈥�

And Wykeham Primary head teacher, Christopher Jones said:

鈥淭he school鈥檚 younger children acted immediately and maturely to help teachers deal with this unfortunate incident. Parents have made positive comments about how the school has kept them informed.鈥�

鈥淚 think the response to this incident shows that the school has a happy and settled community. Teachers are now keen to get back to normality and celebrate the many successes and achievements of their pupils.鈥�
