Sherwood Forest

Sherwood Forest would have covered much of Nottinghamshire in medieval times.

However, Sherwood Forest was never the Cambodian jungle it is sometimes made out to be. It will have encompassed not just forest but woodland, streams, lakes, moor and heath.
