Title:
Work
Sixteen year old Dominic has just gone into sixth form. Already,
he's noticing homework getting harder! He wants to continue in education
so he can go to university, but with school work and a weekend job in a
supermarket, life can be quite stressful. He rarely has time to relax with
friends but isn't prepared to cut down his hours at work - he needs the
money! Will life every get easier? Probably not - but he'll be alright.
'Talking
Teens'
As part of 'Talking Teens', a survey of parents and adolescents commissioned
by the Â鶹Éç's Special Features Unit for Â鶹Éç National and Local Radio, we
have prepared Video Nation shorts on teenagers.
You can find
out about Asiyla and her
mum, Ruby and also Lisa-Marie
Smith.
The survey
provides the biggest snapshot of British teenagers' attitudes and of their
parents and carers bringing them up. Over 6,000 parents and 16,000 teen
responses were collated from the online survey, accessed through web sites
like this one.
Over half
of teenagers are in agreement that they get a bad press and only 13 per
cent agree that society values them! For more details on the survey, click
here.
