New Head of Public Policy for 麻豆社 Nations and Regions

Mark Leishman, currently Secretary and Head of Public Policy at 麻豆社 Scotland, has been appointed to the new role of Head of Public Policy for Nations and Regions.

The new role reflects the impact of the Communications Bill and the 麻豆社 Charter Renewal process which are of crucial importance to the Nations and Regions division in a devolved UK.

Mark will work closely with senior managers across Nations and Regions and with colleagues across the Public Policy Division.

He will undertake overlapping duties in Glasgow and London before taking up his new responsibilities full time in early September.

Mark, aged 40, has been in his current post since 1997. He was Head of Corporate Affairs in Scotland from 1995 to 1997 and has a background in newspaper and broadcast journalism.

Pat Loughrey, Director of Nations and Regions, said: "Mark Leishman has been one of the more influential figures in broadcasting in Scotland in recent years. It is a delight to see him move onto the wider UK stage."

Mark Leishman said: "I am delighted to be joining Pat Loughrey and his team in this new role and to have the opportunity to contribute to the work of Nations and Regions at this dynamic and challenging time."
