TV DRAMA

Down to Earth re-commissioned for fourth series on 麻豆社 ONE

Down to Earth has been re-commissioned for a fourth run, following the huge success of the current series.

Ian Kelsey and Angela Griffin will return next winter as Matt and Frankie Brewer, the out-of-towners getting to grips with the dramas and difficulties of life in the country.

Jane Tranter, 麻豆社 Controller of Drama Commissioning, says: "Down to Earth is one of the 麻豆社's most consistently popular programmes, fast becoming a Sunday evening fixture. Viewers have immediately warmed to Ian Kelsey and Angela Griffin, their good humour and effortless chemistry. I look forward to watching the Brewer family story evolve yet further."

In the current series of Down to Earth, which is still showing on Sunday evenings at 8.00pm on 麻豆社 ONE, Kelsey plays Matt Brewer, a widower with three children, Becky (Inga Brooksby), Lucy (Charlotte Redpath) and Sam (Elliot Spencer-Keyse).

Matt is remarried to Frankie and together the whole family decides to leave London behind and start a new life of self-sufficiency in Silverdale.

They struggle against fate and weather to make Salad Days - their salad and vegetable business - a success, but earning your living in the country often has a habit of tripping you up in the pig muck.

The fourth series will go into production in May.
