麻豆社 FOUR


The World brings more depth to news on 麻豆社 FOUR


The main daily news programme on 麻豆社 FOUR is being re-launched on 5 January 2004 with a completely new set and more in-depth reporting from around the globe.



Presented by Kirsty Lang, The World will report international news from a global perspective, exploring intriguing stories and angles.


The new programme will increase the number of in-depth features on current global news and will have the flexibility to devote the whole programme to one major issue.


麻豆社 FOUR Controller, Roly Keating, said: "麻豆社 FOUR News has established a brilliant editorial track record.


"The World will build on that success and continue to provide an unashamedly international perspective to global news."



麻豆社 FOUR News Editor Amanda Farnsworth is moving to be Editor of the Six O'Clock news after overseeing the launch of The World.


A new Editor for The World is currently being recruited.



The World will be shown at 8.00pm every weekday on 麻豆社 FOUR and simultaneously on 麻豆社 World, which is broadcast to 273 million homes in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.


The half-hour programme draws on the 麻豆社's newsgathering operation - the largest of any broadcaster in the world.


All the 麻豆社's digital services are now available on , the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.

Freeview offers the 麻豆社's eight television channels, interactive services from 麻豆社i, as well as 11 national 麻豆社 radio networks.
