The National Trust comes to 麻豆社 TWO

After great success and critical acclaim on 麻豆社 FOUR, The National Trust documentary series moves to 麻豆社 TWO for a ten part run starting on 14 January 2004.

The National Trust programmes tackle the big questions about heritage in an observational series and allow viewers to see what goes on behind closed doors at one of Britain's most powerful and political forces.

How should Britain's history be conserved? How can the right balance be found between preservation of national treasures and public access to them? What does value for money mean in a world where restorations can cost millions of pounds?

Filmed over two years, the series focuses on five Trust hot spots - Studland Beach, Stonehenge, Lennon's boyhood home, Waddesdon Manor and Tyntesfield Manor.

On 麻豆社 FOUR the first programme in the series peaked at 370,000 viewers.

Critical acclaim for the series included...

The Spectator - James Delingpole: "... there are times when you're forced grudgingly to admit that it's still the greatest broadcasting organisation in the world and that your licence fee is worth every penny. The first part of its new series The National Trust was once such moment..."

Daily Telegraph - Gerard O聮Donovan: "... a series... that manages to be sophisticated, enlightening and entertaining... That director Patrick Forbes could convey so much with such wit, acumen and visual flair was a minor miracle of television-making."

Sunday Times 聳 AA Gill: "Beautifully shot, impeccably paced, it was a clear, unrelenting look at the National Trust... "

Mail on Sunday 聳 Nigel Andrew: "The superb series on the National Trust continues on 麻豆社4."

The Independent - Stephen Bayley: "brilliantly observed".

Now, the programmes will be on 麻豆社 TWO from 14 January at 10.00pm, but as half hour episodes making it a ten-part series.
