麻豆社 scoops two interactive Baftas

The 麻豆社 scooped two awards at the 2003 Bafta Interactive Awards on Thursday 19 February - one for the Celebdaq website and one for the interactive radio drama Dark House.

Celebdaq, the virtual stock exchange website which allows users to buy and sell shares in celebrities, won the Online Entertainment category for the best use of the internet to deliver a pure entertainment experience.

Celebdaq was created by the 麻豆社's Interactive Drama & Entertainment department and was one of the first 麻豆社 online formats to successfully transfer to television, becoming a series on 麻豆社 THREE.

Dark House, a joint production between 麻豆社 New Media's Creative Research & Development team, 麻豆社 Radio & Music Interactive, Radio 4 and Radio Drama, won in the Best Technical Innovation category.

Dark House invited listeners inside the heads of its three protagonists and, at regular three-minute 'switching points', allowed them to change the perspective of the drama by voting by text or by telephone.

Ashley Highfield, 麻豆社 Director of New Media & Technology, said: "Winning these prestigious awards is a huge achievement for staff working in new media across the 麻豆社.

"I'm delighted the 麻豆社's pioneering approach to new media and its track record in innovation has been recognised in this way."
