New Home Editor for Âé¶¹Éç News

Mark Easton has been appointed as Home Editor for Âé¶¹Éç News.

Ìý

Currently the Home and Social Affairs Editor at Channel 4 News, Mark succeeds Niall Dickson and will begin at the Âé¶¹Éç on 19 April.

Ìý

Adrian Van Klaveren, the Âé¶¹Éç's Head of Newsgathering, said: "I'm delighted that Mark is returning to the Âé¶¹Éç in the vital role of Home Editor.

Ìý

Mark began his Âé¶¹Éç career as a reporter on the South East magazine programme London Plus in 1986, before moving to Breakfast News and then on to Newsnight in 1989.

Ìý

He joined ITN in 1996 as Political Editor of Channel Five News, and moved to Channel 4 three years later.

Ìý

He has made a number of documentaries for Channel 4, and his work was also included in the entry which won the channel the Emmy Award for International News in 2003.

Ìý

Mark is married with four children and lives in London.
