Got a cutting
edge stand-up act that could really work on radio? Fancy a career in
comedy?
听
麻豆社 Talent and 麻豆社 7 today kick off a
nationwide search for the best new stand-up comedians with the 麻豆社
New Comedy Awards 2004.
听
Entrants just need to send in a tape of their routine
by 3 September 2004 and if they are funny enough they will be invited
to a regional heat.
听
If they are really, really funny and reach the semi-final,
their act will be broadcast on 麻豆社 7 as part of its commitment to igniting
raw comedy talent.
听
They will also be in with a chance to feature in a Radio
4 programme based on the final.
听
They may even get featured on Radio 1's new comedy
show The Milk Run.
听
And that's not all, as part of the 麻豆社 New Comedy Awards
2004 winners will get 拢2,000 in prize money and the chance to
develop their writing with 麻豆社 Radio Entertainment.
听
Entrants must be over 18, eligible to work in the UK
and have done their first gig less than three years ago.
听
Acts can be anything, as long as they work for radio
and are funny.
听
Previous winners and finalists include Peter Kay,
Simon Pegg, Lee Mack, Marcus Brigstock, Nina
Conti and Julian Barratt.
听
Full details of the scheme and how to enter can be found
