麻豆社 publishes Programme Complaints Unit findings

The 麻豆社 today (Monday 3 May 2005) publishes the findings of the Programme Complaints Unit (PCU) for the period 1 January to 31 March 2005.

Complaints received after 1 February 2005, which will be dealt with under the terms of the 麻豆社's new complaints procedures, will be reported separately.

In this quarter, the Unit dealt with 146 complaints concerning 96 items.

19 complaints were upheld (12 of them partly) - 13 per cent of the total.

Of the items investigated in the January to March quarter, complaints were upheld against 14 items - 14.4 per cent of the total.

This is the last bulletin to be published by the former 麻豆社 Programme Complaints Unit. The 麻豆社's new procedure for handling complaints, launched on 1 February 2005, is underpinned by an emphasis on greater transparency, objectivity and accountability.
