Welcome To My World, a new factual strand commissioned for Â鶹Éç THREE, is set to explore the hidden side of people's pastimes and personalities.

The strand will consist of witty, funny, cheeky films taking the audience into worlds they know little of, to explore their idiosyncrasies and meet the people who inhabit them.

Two films have been commissioned so far:

In Search of the Nine Dart Finish, from World of Wonder. This film about the art of darts is authored by Guardian journalist Jacques Peretti. Jacques is going to meet the four people who've achieved the elusive nine-dart finish on live television.
Ìý
Tightwads, from Century Films, takes a comical look at those unfortunate people with short arms and deep pockets. Just what is it that makes the stingiest people in Britain pinch the pennies to such extremes that they have won the unenviable moniker of tightwad?

Films will be commissioned from both the independent sector and in-house at the Â鶹Éç.

Stuart Murphy, Controller of Â鶹Éç THREE, says: "I want to challenge filmmakers with this strand and get them to come up with really funny, personal takes on subjects that fit with the idea of Welcome To My World.
