Emma Bunton goes Downtown for Â鶹Éç Children in Need Appeal

Forget all your troubles and forget all your cares as Â鶹Éç Children in Need is thrilled to announce Emma Bunton is releasing this year's official single for the charity.

Emma will be releasing her own version of the Sixties classic Downtown, originally a hit for Petula Clark. Emma will be performing the official song on the big night, Friday 17 November 2006, live on Â鶹Éç ONE.

And every copy of the single sold will help the charity as it aims to beat last year's amazing total of £33m.

She says: "I am honoured and delighted to be asked to do this on behalf of Children In Need. I've always loved Downtown as a song and I'm really looking forward to putting my own stamp on it.

"The track's good fun and one everyone will know. The video should be a good laugh - I've asked all the Strictly guys to come along, if they have time, and show off all the hard work we've been doing - and hopefully there will be a few other surprises in store, too!"

Emma and her new celebrity pals are currently wowing the Â鶹Éç ONE Saturday night audience in Strictly Come Dancing, and proceeds from all the phone votes for your favourite star also go to Children in Need.
