Â鶹Éç appoints Chief Operating Officer of Journalism Group

Dominic Coles has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of the Â鶹Éç's Journalism Group.

Coles, previously Director of Sports Rights and Finance at the Â鶹Éç, assumes overall responsibility for the financial and business operations of Â鶹Éç News, Â鶹Éç Sport, Â鶹Éç Global News and Â鶹Éç Nations & Regions – the divisions which make up the corporation's Journalism Group.

He retains full responsibility for negotiating sports rights, as well as remaining Finance Director for Â鶹Éç Sport. He will sit on the Journalism Board and the Â鶹Éç's Finance Board.

On Coles' appointment, Deputy Director-General Mark Byford, who leads the Journalism Group, says:

Coles took up the position of Chief Operating Officer, Â鶹Éç Journalism Group on 1 January 2007. He reports directly to the Deputy Director-General Mark Byford.
