Â鶹Éç Vision's Controller of Knowledge Commissioning, George Entwistle, has announced the new line-up of factual commissioning editors to work across all four Â鶹Éç TV channels and on multi-platform content.

Ìý

The new structure takes effect from today (3 December 2007).

Ìý

In the new in-house commissioning team, reporting to Emma Swain, Head of In-house Knowledge Commissioning, there are three Commissioning Editors: Martin Davidson looks after Specialist Factual; Adam Kemp commissions Arts, Music and Religion; and there is a vacancy for a new Commissioning Editor for Features and Factual Formats.

Ìý

In addition to leading the in-house commissioning team, Emma Swain will commission Documentaries and Natural History, plus Features and Factual Formats until the new commissioner is appointed.

Ìý

In the independent commissioning team, reporting to Richard Klein, Head of Independent Knowledge Commissioning, there are three Commissioning Editors: Ben Gale commissions Features and Factual Formats. He will also commission Documentaries on Â鶹Éç One and Â鶹Éç Three. Jacquie Hughes becomes a Commissioning Editor, taking responsibility for Arts and Religion. She will also handle indie music proposals. And there is a vacancy for a new Commissioning Editor for Specialist Factual.

Ìý

Richard Klein continues to commission documentaries for Â鶹Éç Two and Four alongside his role as leader of the independent commissioning team.

Ìý

Richard will also commission Specialist Factual until the new commissioner is appointed.

Ìý

The two commissioning editor vacancies will be advertised inside the Â鶹Éç and externally in the coming weeks, with interviews planned for early in 2008.

Ìý

George Entwistle said: "I'm delighted with the exceptional talent, expertise and balance of skills in this new commissioning team.

Ìý

"The Â鶹Éç's factual commissioning editors are the best in the business – and I know they will deliver exactly what the licence-fee payer deserves: the most valuable and enjoyable factual programmes and multi-platform content in the world."

Ìý

Jana Bennett, Director Â鶹Éç Vision, said: "Emma Swain and Richard Klein have outstanding track records in factual commissioning, from epic landmarks to authored documentaries.

Ìý

"They've a real passion for seeing the very best ideas come to screen, along with a commitment to growing the Â鶹Éç's Knowledge story on our channels and the web.

Ìý

"I know they will embrace the competitive spirit which this new structure represents, and I'm delighted to have four out of six of the new commissioners in place, all of whom bring outstanding individual expertise to the Knowledge commissioning team, ensuring the Â鶹Éç continues to excel with world-class programming and content."

Ìý

The commissioning process for Current Affairs remains unchanged, with the recently appointed Commissioning Editor of TV Current Affairs, Clive Edwards, reporting to both Â鶹Éç Knowledge and Â鶹Éç News.
