A new Editor has been appointed for Â鶹Éç Radio Leeds.
Formerly a Senior Broadcast Journalist for Â鶹Éç Current Affairs Radio, Rozina Breen will take over the post in September 2009.
She said she was greatly looking forward to a new challenge: "I'm thrilled to be coming back to the Â鶹Éç at a time that is both exciting and challenging.
"West Yorkshire is a fantastic patch – artistically, commercially and politically – with a wealth of sporting activity to match.
"The diversity of our audiences, too, provides a richness of cultures and experiences that will be important to explore and share.
"I'm also very much looking forward to leading and working alongside a talented team at Â鶹Éç Leeds, in developing and producing radio and online content that is creative, innovative and utterly compelling."
Rozina was born in London but spent several years of her childhood in East Africa.
She studied English and Drama at University College Wales, Aberystwyth and went on to gain a Masters in Communications at the University of Leeds.
She began her Â鶹Éç career as a radio production assistant at Radio Leeds but, after a year, moved to Â鶹Éç News and Current Affairs Radio where she worked as a researcher on a range of Â鶹Éç Radio 4 and Â鶹Éç Radio 5 Live output.
She also spent a year with Â鶹Éç factual in Manchester and spent time as an Assistant Producer on Â鶹Éç One and Â鶹Éç Two documentaries, as well researching for Â鶹Éç One's Watchdog Healthcheck programme.
She ended her 11-year career with Home Current Affairs Radio as a Senior Broadcast Journalist, producing both pre-recorded and live output for Radio 4.
Rozina also spent a year in Manchester as an online Broadcast Journalist for Â鶹Éç News Online.
Since leaving the Â鶹Éç, she has produced two books – on stress and prejudice.
She has also spent time as a copywriter for the NSPCC and worked as a gender equality analyst for the UKRCC, an organisation aiming to encourage more women into science and technology careers.
She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Radio for Leeds Trinity and All Saints College, which is affiliated to the University of Leeds.
Rozina lives in Leeds with her husband and three children and is also Vice-Chair of Governors at a north Leeds primary school.
