Charles Dickens鈥� classic ghost story was first published in 1866 as part of the multiple author 鈥楳ugby Junction鈥� collection, in the Christmas edition of the periodical 鈥楢ll the Year Round鈥�. The story is said to have been inspired by a the Clayton Tunnel crash, near Brighton, in 1861.
