Katie Derham presents a week of programmes showcasing the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales with performances from recent tours. Plus the orchestra in concert live from 麻豆社 Hoddinott Hall on Tuesday and a live concert by the 麻豆社 Singers from St Paul's Knightsbridge on Thursday.

Young violinist Callum Smart attracted attention when, at the age of just thirteen, he won the strings category of the 2010 麻豆社 Young Musicians Competition. Since then he has toured as a soloist and chamber musician all whilst still at school. He joins the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales to perform Mozart's Concerto no. 5 in A major, K.219. One of the first ever Radio 3 New Generation Artists back in 1999, cellist Alban Gerhardt is no stranger to being a precociously talented young string player himself. He joins the orchestra to play Barber's Op.22 concerto. Plus Beethoven, Bartok, and Schubert's 9th Symphony, the 'Great'.
