Katie Derham introduces the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales and the 麻豆社 Concert Orchestra in concert performances and recordings. Today features a concert given by the 麻豆社 Concert Orchestra in the Queen Elizabeth Hall last month, for which they were joined by folk group A Hawk and a Hacksaw to celebrate the folk cultures of Eastern Europe in music by Ligeti and Bartok. Plus music from a concert given by the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales in St David's Hall, Cardiff last month featuring Tavener's Requiem with soloists Elin Manahan Thomas and Nicholas Mulroy.
