Â鶹Éç Music launches the world's greatest classical music festival from the Royal Albert Hall. Featuring music by William Walton, Mozart, Sibelius and Nielsen.
Â鶹Éç Music launches the world's greatest classical music festival from the Royal Albert Hall. Katie Derham and Tom Service introduce William Walton's choral classic Belshazzar's Feast and Mozart's glorious Piano Concerto No 20 with soloist Lars Vogt.
To mark the 150th anniversaries of two great Nordic composers, the programme also features Sibelius's own exotic retelling of the Belshazzar story and Nielsen's sparkling overture Maskarade. There's also the world premiere of Dadaville by British composer Gary Carpenter. Sakari Oramo conducts the Â鶹Éç Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, with the Â鶹Éç National Chorus of Wales, the Â鶹Éç Singers and bass-baritone soloist Christopher Maltman.
