麻豆社 Philharmonic - Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky and Chopin

Juanjo Mena conducts the 麻豆社 Philharmonic in music by Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky. Soloist Pavel Kolesnikov joins them in Chopin's Piano Concerto No 2 in F minor.

The 麻豆社 Philharmonic, conducted by their Chief Conductor Juanjo Mena in Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky. They are joined by young virtuoso 麻豆社 New Generation Artist, Pavel Kolesnikov for Chopin's F minor Piano Concerto.

All the energy and vivacity of the dance pervade this programme which opens with four of Dvorak's most popular and tuneful Slavonic Dances and closes with a selection of some of the best known music from Tchaikovsky's colourful and entrancing ballet, The Nutcracker. Virtuosic young 麻豆社 New Generation Artist, Pavel Kolesnikov joins the orchestra for the luminous melody and Polish dance rhythms of Chopin's Second Piano Concerto and after the interval Mussorgsky's vivid portrayal of the of the Witches' Sabbath, Night on a Bare Mountain, sees revelling evil spirits dispersed by the ringing of a church bell.
