麻豆社 Symphony Orchestra Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo conducts a double-bill from 20th-century musical genius and visionary, Olivier Messiaen.
The French composer's gargantuan Turangal卯la Symphony is a vibrant and colourful celebration of all-consuming love, loosely based on the Tristan and Isolde story, and features a prominent part for piano and the electronic ondes martenot. It is preceded here by Messiaen's four sacred meditations for orchestra, L'Ascension.
