Helen has a lot to think about, and Ed refocuses his efforts.
Tom has offered Ed a few days' work at Bridge Farm covering for Johnny. But Ed's reluctant to take it, believing Home Farm should've been offered him Johnny's work. Emma points out that he'll soon have no work in the village if he boycotts everyone involved. Ed's Texels are the only thing that make him feel like a real farmer, but Emma isn't sure they'll ever make a profit. Ed accepts the work from Tom, but insists that investing in breeding stock will make real money in the end.
Lilian takes Justin to an art exhibition, but he can't muster much enthusiasm. To lighten the mood Lilian mentions their honeymoon, and Justin enthuses about Mexico. Unfortunately, Lilian had been thinking of Rajasthan. Justin is wary of India, but proposes a proper discussion to find a destination upon which they both agree.
At the Bridge Farm Caf茅, Emma discovers Helen has been agonising over a decision. Emma suggests that a true friend would never expect her to go through with something that would hurt her. Helen makes up her mind, and meets Ian to tell him that she can't be a surrogate. She'd be particularly worried about the impact on Henry. Ian reassures her he'd never want to risk their friendship. She'll still be an important part of his new family.
